FAQ

Will the Elliptus® cover fit my existing baseboard heater?

Yes! If your hydronic baseboard heater still has its original back plate measuring at least s 7½” tall from the floor, this cover will slip right over it. No need to rip anything off the wall.

Do I need tools or a contractor to install this?

Not at all. Just remove the old front cover and end caps. Snap the new end caps onto the panel, push the assembly into place over the back plate, and you’re done in minutes.

What material is the cover made from?

Elliptus® covers are made with 22-gauge galvanized steel, and the end caps are 18-gauge, all finished in a durable, powder-coated semi-gloss white to resist rust and wear.

Can I paint the cover to match my space?

Yes. You can use a spray can or roller to paint over the powder-coated finish if you want a custom color.

Is the cover rust-resistant?

Definitely. The galvanized steel core and powder-coated finish are designed to resist rust.

Is this product child- and pet-safe?

Yes. The smooth, single-piece design has no sharp edges and blocks access to the heating element, making it a safer option for families.

Can I install this if my original cover is missing completely?

Yes! The Elliptus® cover can be used in new construction or full renovations where only the bare finned tube remains, just ensure the base plate is compatible.

Can I connect this to other lengths?

Yes. Elliptus® panels are available in all standard lengths. For longer spans, you can combine multiple panels using a coupler (sold separately).

Is Elliptus® a good solution for commercial or multi-unit projects?

Absolutely. The architectural profile, rust-resistant galvanized steel, and snap-on install make Elliptus® ideal for multi-family renovations, hotels, student housing, healthcare, and other professional environments.

Can I install this over original back plates without demo?

Yes (if it meets the minimum installation height requirements). That’s the Baseboarders® advantage, no demolition, no tools. These covers are built to slip over the existing back plate and drastically cut down install time.

What gauge steel is used?

Elliptus® panels use 22-gauge galvanized steel. The individually sold end caps are 18-gauge, providing added durability at vulnerable corners.

How long does it take to install per unit?

Most professionals report 2 to 3 minutes per heater. That’s a huge labor saver on multi-room or multi-unit jobs.

Can I order in bulk or get trade pricing?

Yes. We offer volume discounts and dedicated support for trade professionals. Contact us directly at sales@baseboarders.com or call 1-844-801-6429.

Do you provide spec sheets or submittals?

Yes. Full spec sheets, install guides, and warranty documentation are available for your records or permitting process.
